#I bet Dean was the kind of kid who LOVED comic books #But he could never really read a complete series because they never stayed in any place long enough for the next issue to come out #Plus they never really had any money to spend on ‘childish things’ when it was a constant struggle to keep them fed and clothed when Dad was #away for weeks at a time doing ‘important work’ that had him constantly risking his life and never seemed to get him payed #So dean would scrimp and save any petty cash he could possibly find #a nickle here a dime there the odd quarter he’d find every so often forgotten in a payphone #And it’d take him FOREVER but he’d finally have enough for an issue of The Sensational Spiderman that he would lose himself in over and over #He’d read it to Sam every night making the sound effects and different voices #Carry it around with him from state to state until the pages creased and crinkled and the ink smeared and smudged #But eventually something would happen and maybe a leaky pipe in the house they were squatting at would burst #Or john would come home injured and drunk and flimsey paper pages would get damaged beyond repair #But Dean wouldn’t complain -couldn’t really- even though it felt like he was the one tearing into dozens of fragile soaked pieces of paper (Tags from zomb13cat)
